Young Women Speaking the Economy
Currently the tenth largest country in the world, Sudan is located in northeastern Africa and has a population of nearly 44 million. Sudan has been embroiled in decades of Civil War, first from 1955 to 1972 and again from 1988 until now. Voters recently overwhelmingly approved a referendum that would divide the country in two: North Sudan and South Sudan. Sudan has the world's 17th fastest growing economy, with oil being its main export. Click the bubbles on the map above for more statistics, images, quotes, and links to creative projects.
