Rendezvous in the Paradise
Raised in and around the Bollywood culture, Swati Gupta was inspired to create her own music video featuring luxuriously dressed women, elaborate dancing and singing, and out-of-this-world scenery. She was the director, the choreographer and the editor for Randezvous in the Paradise.

Rendezvous in the Paradise. Five women sing, dance and call for rain in this Bollywood-inspired music video. Director Swati Gupta re-imagines what a paradise could look like.
At first, the video resembles other Bollywood films--people dance, sing and run around in bright multicolor and pure joy. However, in my video, no men are present and women seem completely alone and content to enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounds them. It's winter, but the women wear bright summer dresses. It's a cold, but they call for rain.
This video was shot at Albert Kahn Gardens, near Paris, France. The garden seemed like a perfect place to stage my idyllic music video.
