A propos de moi
I am an author and speaker specializing in women's leadership development and women’s spirituality.
I have published articles, interviews, essays, and stories for adults and children in a variety of national and international magazines and journals. My latest book, IN SWEET COMPANY: CONVERSATIONS WITH EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN ABOUT LIVING A SPIRITUAL LIFE, (Jossey Bass) is enjoyed by readers around the world.
I lead women's retreats around the country, including: “Spirit At Work: How to Make Your Life and Your Work Be About What You Value Most,” “Women As Peacemakers,” “Listening to Your Inner Voice,” and “Women As Leaders.”
I have degrees in Art Therapy, Psychosynthesis, and Leadership and Human Behavior, and served on the faculty of the University of San Diego, in the Leadership and Education Sciences Master’s Degree program. In October, 2002, I traveled to Geneva as a delegate to the United Nations conference, The Global Peace Initiative of Women Religious and Spiritual Leaders, the first international and interdenominational gathering of women religious and spiritual leaders in history.

Many years ago, when the Literacy Movement was in its infancy, I read a slogan that set the stage for the books and articles I write and the women’s retreats I lead around the country: “Teach a woman to read and you teach a family to read. Teach many women to read and society blossoms.” This slogan articulates the influence women have on the world, the light women can bring to all their endeavors, to any cause we turn our mind to. to our ability to birth a new day.
In this new day, in this era of chaos and challenge, how women respond, what role we each choose to play and what we become in its stead, can help society “blossom.” My desire, my passion, is to provide learning programs, books and articles that get women thinking about and talking about the BIG questions, the questions that can transform first themselves, and then society: What do I believe in? What are the core values I will build my life on and how do I integrate them into my daily life? What is my purpose? Where is my line in the sand?
Je suis passionnée par:
Women's personal transformation/tapping the collective wisdom and the greater good
Creativity as a healing process
Listening to your inner voice
Politics, Spirituality, and the Feminine

de Votre Exposition:
In 2002, I participated in a global congress convened under the auspices of the United Nations. Hundreds of women representing the world's various spiritual traditions came together to talk about how we could individually and collectively advance the peace process. This story describes a unique highlight of that moving experience.
