I recently retired after 50 years of teaching--in four countries, mostly high school but at some time everything from kindergarten to graduate school. My job for the past 23 years was at the Denver Center for International Studies, where I taught international studies, global service learning, and facilitated individual student projects and portfolios. I was a college student and world traveler in the 1960s and was inspired by the women's movement, the peace movement, and changes in global economics.

I have constantly changed, from a child of the 50s in suburban New York state, to a student at Vassar in the 60s,one of the first teachers to visit the People's Rep. of China in the early 70s, a teacher and curriculum writer for the Center for Teaching International Studies at the University of Denver in the 80s, a Ph.D. student in the 90s writing a dissertation on an innovative peace education program in Colorado, a teacher in the international studies magnet school, and now a retiree anxious to contribute to global projects through women's NGOs.
