I'm a New York City based photographer. My second book, "Momma Love: How the Mother Half Lives," will be released May 1st, 2013.

Through 40 women's portraits and personal stories, Momma Love explores with honesty the highs and the lows of the motherhood experience.

My first book of photography, "Laws of the Bandit Queens" (Random House), featured 35 ground breaking women who had succeeded while confronting the status quo with their work. Some Bandit Queens included Alice Walker, Sandra Bernhard, Janeane Garofalo, Susan Faludi, Mary Karr and Geraldine Ferraro.

Momma Love continues that spirit of questioning and investigation, bringing it into the motherhood arena.
