About me:
I am a former teacher, principal who co-founded and founded African Centered Schools in East Palo Alto, Ca (often called Nairobi) first for my five biological children and then for my community children.

I exhibit change with my Collard Greens Cultural Festival (founded in 1998) where I bring folks together of all persuasions to celebrate the vegetable that has sustained African Americans in the past, the present and in the future. This festival has changed the way we view our culture and history. The future of collard greens is extraordinary...collard greens ice cream, chips, smoothies, salads, raw or cooked without pork, quiche, etc. I can go on and on. The festival supports healthy eating and children going to schools that teach them the truth about their history and culture.
