Photographer M. Scott Brauer presents an intimate look at the lives of the women living in Guanyan County, a depressed region of Jiangsu Province, China. China's one child policy, along with the lack of social welfare programs from the government, make it a struggle for the people of Guanyan County to survive--particularly widows, elderly women, and girl children.
